Integration Engineer - V.I.E.
Powens is the trusted Open Finance partner for financial institutions and fast-growing companies across Europe and Latin America, helping them automate financial workflows, embed payments seamlessly, and turn real-time financial data into actionable decisions.
Headquartered in Barcelona and Paris, Powens operates at the intersection of financial data and payments. Through one platform and two applications, we give our customers the infrastructure to manage finances, automate accounting, assess risk, and grow their businesses.
At Powens, we ask why before we build, we take initiative and see things through, we move from problem to solution together, and we work seamlessly across Europe as one team. If you enjoy pushing things forward rather than accepting the status quo, you'll fit in here.
We are a trusted partner to leading financial institutions and software providers, and we achieve this by hiring exceptional people. Joining Powens means being part of an inclusive, multicultural, and international team of over 130 employees.
About the role:
Your mission is to support customers throughout their entire lifecycle with Powens: from the initial design and implementation of their integration with our APIs to the live production phase, ensuring the service remains stable, efficient, and aligned with their business goals.
During the integration phase
Lead, coordinate, and assist customer integrations from initial analysis and solution design through implementation and go-live, ensuring fast time-to-live and adherence to best practices.
Work closely with the technical teams of fintechs, software vendors, banks, insurers, and other financial institutions to define the best way to connect to our APIs.
Ensure the technical design meets the customer's business, regulatory, and compliance requirements, in close collaboration with internal Sales, Compliance, Finance, and Product teams.
Secure alignment and commitment from the customer's technical stakeholders regarding the integration approach, timelines, and responsibilities.
Provide clear and regular updates on integration status, risks, and next steps to all stakeholders.
In production - technical account management
Own the health of your assigned accounts end-to-end, working in tandem with a dedicated Support counterpart.
Continuously monitor integration stability, errors, response times, volumes, conversion rates, and usage patterns; detect anomalies and incidents before the client does.
Proactively identify operational and business risks (conversion drops, error spikes, low feature adoption) and trigger action plans before they escalate into critical incidents or churn.
Prepare and lead regular technical and operational reviews with key customers — from hands-on working sessions with growth accounts to Quarterly Monitoring Reviews (health scores, SLA performance, roadmap alignment) with Tier-1 institutional clients.
Work hand in hand with Revenue teams (Key Account Managers) so they can focus on renewal and growth while you secure the technical stability and scalability of each account — aligning on commercial context ahead of client meetings and protecting against silent churn.
Act as the customer's technical voice internally, structuring and channeling feedback to Product teams about API, tooling, and documentation improvements.
Support existing customers in evolutions, new integrations, migrations, or expansions of their usage of the Powens platform (new countries, new products, higher volumes).
Contribute to regulatory alignment conversations (PSD2/PSD3, FIDA, DORA) as they affect client integrations.
Operational excellence and tooling
Use and enhance monitoring and reporting tools (e.g. Grafana, Metabase, or similar) to build actionable customer health dashboards.
Collaborate internally to evolve ticketing processes (Jira or similar) from a purely reactive model to a proactive one, where incidents are prevented and prioritized based on customer impact.
Document best practices for integration and production operations, and contribute to internal and external playbooks and guides.
What we're looking for:
2 years of experience in roles such as Integration/Implementation Engineer, Technical Solutions/Account Manager, Solutions Engineer, or Technical Project Manager within the SaaS / API space; experience in banking, payments, or fintech is a strong plus.
Solid experience with RESTful API integrations and related best practices (security, robustness, observability), including authentication flows (OAuth), webhooks, and log analysis.
Hands-on experience with SQL queries for data analysis and troubleshooting; comfort turning volumes, conversion funnels, and error trends into actionable insights.
Proven experience with service desk tools (e.g. Jira Service Management) and monitoring/analytics tools such as Grafana, Elastic, or Metabase.
Strong ability to communicate clearly with both technical (developers, architects) and non-technical stakeholders (Product, Operations, Revenue) — including senior stakeholders at large enterprise or institutional clients: you can run a steering meeting, handle an escalation, and earn trusted-advisor status.
Strong customer-centric mindset, with a proactive approach to risk detection, continuous improvement, and churn prevention — focused on outcomes (retention, expansion, satisfaction), not just ticket resolution.
Fluent in French and English (written and spoken); Spanish is a plus.
Knowledge of Open Banking / Open Finance (PSD2, AIS/PIS) is a strong plus.
